Your Ultimate Defence Against Pathogenic Bacteria Bionil is a powerful sanitiser formulated with 80% Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC), offering unparalleled protection against pathogenic bacteria in prawn, shrimp, and fish ponds. With its potent sanitising properties, Bionil ensures a clean and healthy aquatic environment for optimal growth and productivity. BKC disrupts the lipid bilayer structure of microbial cell membranes, leading to leakage of cellular contents and ultimately cell death.
This mechanism of action helps in controlling and preventing microbial infections in prawn culture systems.
Usage Instructions for Prawn/Shrimp/Fish Ponds:
Prevention of Diseases:
– To prevent diseases, apply Bionil once every 7-10 days, adjusting the frequency according to water quality.
Treating Diseases:
– For disease treatment, apply Bionil once every 2-3 days, or as advised by an Aquaculture consultant.
Application Method:
– Dilute the required quantity of Bionil in water outside the pond, then uniformly spray it throughout the pond.
– Application should be done during daytime, and it’s essential to turn on all paddle wheel aerators for uniform distribution of Bionil.
With Sprayers and Aerators:
– For effective application, dilute 375 ml to 650 ml of Bionil per acre per meter water depth.
– Bionil is specifically recommended during periods of high pathogenic bacterial loads, such as Vibrio outbreaks.
– It is also indicated for controlling and treating secondary infections resulting from viral outbreaks.
Red Disease Treatment in Shrimp Hatcheries:
– For the treatment of red disease in shrimp hatcheries, a bath with 1-2 ppm Bionil concentration is recommended for a duration of one day.
Choose Bionil for comprehensive protection against pathogenic bacteria in your aquaculture ponds. With its precise formulation and easy application method, Bionil ensures the health and well-being of your aquatic stock, promoting a thriving and disease-free environment. Bionil Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC) is a valuable tool in prawn culture for its potent antimicrobial properties, broad-spectrum activity, stability, and safety profile when used appropriately. Its integration into pond management practices contributes to maintaining a healthy and disease-free environment, thereby supporting sustainable prawn production.
Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC) possesses potent antimicrobial properties, disrupting the cell membranes of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. With broad-spectrum activity, it effectively targets a wide range of pathogens in prawn culture, including Vibrio spp. and disease-causing viruses.
BKC’s mechanism of action leads to cell death, and its stability in water ensures prolonged protection against contamination while minimising harm to aquatic organisms, making it an integral component of disease management strategies in prawn culture.
